St Lawrence School Remembrance Memorial Wows Students and Staff

Cornell Engineers is super-proud to have been the engineers for St Lawrence State School’s Remembrance Day Memorial Wall.

Remembrance Day has a special significance in 2018. Sunday, 11 November 2018 marks the 100th anniversary of the Armistice which ended the First World War (1914–18).

The wall was constructed by Col Sommerfeld and engineered by our very own team at Cornell Engineers.

Remembrance Memorial Construction

The wall is a reinforced concrete masonry (Besser block) wall with a reinforced concrete footing. The wall has been designed to be able to resist cyclonic wind loads.

Thank You

A big thank you to Col Sommerfeld and his team for involving us in this project. The Remembrance Day Memorial Wall looks great! Don’t you think?!?
